![]() ![]() ![]() Good news, the author of Joplin re-opened the integrate Ne xtcloud Notes issue just a few hours ago and added the enhancement tag. It’s very close to what I want, but the author has no intention of ever fixing its deficiencies… I’d prefer for the files stored on the filesystem be arranged in such a way that they make sense in and of themselves. I will continue to keep my fingers crossed that the Tagspaces author makes the desktop client WebDAV-capable, and that he makes an NC app version of it.Īfter a few days of evaluation, I do not believe Joplin suits my needs. The suggestion that someday there might be an Joplin NC app doesn’t fix this… I’d prefer for the files stored on the filesystem be arranged in such a way that they make sense in and of themselves. The end result is that though my notes might be recoverable if I was ever forced to use another application, it would be non-trivial and require great effort. Given that Nextcloud makes a database available for such things, and given that the filesystem can map to Joplins “many notes in many notebooks” nesting hierarchy, this shouldn’t be strictly necessary. Though they use the md extension and are nominally markdown, every one of them is contaminated with strange metadata tags. When it saves/syncs files to Nextcloud, the filesystem is used as a slop bucket of randomly named files. It’s very close to what I want, but the author has no intention of ever fixing its deficiencies. Files - this will open the Files app, where you can select files to import.ĭepending on your Android devices and the installed apps, this dialog can look differently and show more or less options. After a few days of evaluation, I do not believe Joplin suits my needs.Voice Recorder - this will start the Voice Recorded app, where you can record an audio note to import.Camcoder - here you can taka directly a video, which can be imported in the app. ![]() Camera - this will open the Camera app, where you can take a picture, which can be imported in the current location. On the following screenshot from an Android operating system, you see the following options: On mobile devices, tapping on the Add files menu will show a dialog from which can choose various source for files. There you can select which files you want to import. The importing of a file can be initiated also from the folder menu, located in the top right corner of the application.Ĭhoose the Add files to open the file chooser of your operating system. After a successful import the imported file will be copied in the currently opened folder. In TagSpaces files can be imported in many ways. Using these timestamp-tags ensures the uniqueness of the automatically generated file name of the file created by the app. For example a file created on the 17th of January in 2017, at 10:30 (and 32 seconds) would be tagged with timestamp like 20170117T133032. T - is just a delimiter between the date and the time. When you create a new file in TagSpaces, a time-stamp in the format of YYYMMDDThhmmss will be automatically added as a tag, where It contains a timestamp tag which format is explained in the next section. The file name has the following format note.md (or. The path defaults in most of the cases to the current folder, but when there is no opened location, the dialog will create the file in the root folder of the first location in your location manager. Bellow of this text field you will see the path where this file will be created. This is especially useful for the Kanban perspective where you create this way new cards. The text is preselected, so you can easy change it, to what ever you need. The field on the top of the file creation dialog, shows the automatically generated file name. As a work around you can use the our browser extension. Downloading files from URLs mostly works for files shared from object stores, but often fails due to CORS restriction implemented on web sites. ![]()
